[ Gorou is, of course, trying his best not to get too in the way of the other's movements but he can't help but give into the need to be close and touch after so long apart and knowing how short the time they have together really is. He wants to savor every second of it.
The duties that Tighnari has are so different from Gorou's own as Watatsumi General. He finds it fascinating, really. ]

[ tighnari can certainly understand that reasoning, which is why he doesn't shoo gorou away, but instead allows him to linger close - mostly because he's not actually in the way, tighnari is still able to move around him and assemble their pita sandwiches without feeling hassled. also, we'll retcon that he removed his gloves and washed his hands before all of this, because he wasn't born in a barn. ]
So am I, honestly. I don't mind the extra work, and I'm very, very glad that Irminsul's sickness has finally been addressed, but.. I'm ready for a very long nap.
[ not to mention the fact that he's still healing, technically, though he's more or less fine.

Gorou's tail doesn't stop wagging the entire time he hangs on Tighnari while the other is making their sandwiches. The foods here smell different than what he's accustomed to often but he likes it -- especially when prepared by Tighnari's hand, of course. ]
It is very good, both of our homes are mending.

[ Gorou laughs softly and nuzzles at his cheek before reluctantly pulling away so they can settle down and eat. Then, he makes no promises about staying away. ]

[ that pout is so cute and sweet that tighnari is tempted to cave and give him a little smooching time, but no! food is important. he presses a soft peck to gorou's cheek before his partner pulls away at last. ]
I know, I know, but I'm sure you must've worked up an appetite after all of that traveling.
[ tighnari certainly did, after all of his work. he sets the platter of stuffed pita pockets down in the center of the table, as well as two plates, before he seats himself across from gorou so they can begin to eat. ]
[ The small kiss to his cheek is a small solace but he'll get his kisses soon. After all, it's true that he's hungry and his stomach makes a noise as if to agree and he just grins. He could have gotten a snack but he'd wanted to eat with Tighnari.
He settles down, his tail still refusing to remain still as they start to eat. His eyes linger over his lover's face and he sighs. ]
I'm exactly as strict as I need to be. Maybe if you and everyone else would take better care of yourselves, I wouldn't have to be, but I'm guessing you've hardly fed yourself at all on your way here, hmm?
[ he sees that wagging tail. he knows how gorou gets when he's excited!! lifting his own pita pocket, tighnari begins to eat, one brow raised expectantly. ]
[ Gorou protests but his ears drop a little at the very pointed question. He glances to the side as he takes another bite of his food and pouts. His tail slows a bit too, adequately chided honestly. ]
[ he says, a little more gently than usual, because it's true. there's never enough time, the space between them is always so far. so much. it makes his heart ache. but there's nothing to be done about it, they each of them have their responsibilities that they cannot abandon. ]
[ Gorou smiles and as he finishes scarfing down his food he reaches out to brush his fingers over Tighnari's ear gently and then lightly through his hair. ]
[ Gorou says simply, maybe it's those things but it's also how they smell on Tighnari which is a unique scent in itself. His fingers come back to the base of Tighnari's ear rubbing gently there. ]
I had something more interesting waiting for me when I was done eating.
[ he chuckles. all right, he can concede that much. he knows full well what gorou means, for tighnari is the same, he loves the gentle, musky scent of gorou's hair and fur. ]
Is that so.
[ closing his eyes, tighnari leans into those rubbing fingers, a low purr beginning to kick up in his chest. ]
Well, you cleaned your plate, so I can't complain..
[ they're always so far apart, and for so long.. it's incredibly difficult. tighnari's chest constricts a little, and he leans in to nudge his nose gently alongside gorou's, a soft purr kicking up in his chest. ]
